Friday Finds and Such

I've been wanting to have my own little nook in the house where I can have my favorite make up and knick knacks on display. I've been searching for vintage hat boxes and carts for quite some time now and also those vintage Samsonite make up case. I found this really cute but rather small boxes at the antique store in one of my antique shopping expedition a few days back. I'm still in the hunt for a vintage and in excellent condition Samsonite make up case.

The boxes are rather small so I'm still in search of the
elusive vintage Samsonite make up case

The nail polish case is from last year
Target designer collaboration with Tory Burch

Since we're talking about Friday Finds and such, I bought a couple of frames from Michaels and one of my old Vogue magazine (feat. Lady Gaga Sept) has some old prints from circa '60 Vogue edition which I framed and added to my future gallery (still in progress)

Really easy DIY art prints for your wall gallery

After less than 10 minutes, VOILA!

I did an awesome job eh?!
And it only costs me 5 dollars for the frames

Turn Up Your Geek

This will now be your Go-To Page for Online Shopping for your home and yourself. Lately I have been posting on home accents or decors since I've been looking for things to put in our half empty apartment.
Moving from place to place leaves you with nothing to sit on or sleep at in your next "home". Right now we have at least a ball park on how long we're staying in Wichita, Kansas so I'm making our temporary location a home.

In order to keep peace between my boyfriend and I when it comes to decorating, I usually stick with anything out of the ordinary or retro and some vintage look. Here are a few of my online finds that I love and so does he.

Items are all from Think Geek

Your friends will love your knick-knacks even if that friend is Sheldon Cooper. I think that these home items are a median for couples that live together.

Keep Calm and Shop Online

Money can't buy you happiness but it can buy you stuff which is kinda the same thing. This is why I'm broke! Here are a few of my online finds for the home that are so cute that you will go broke!

This website, The Perpetual Kid indulges your inner child and breaks your bank as well. I love that they have retro home decors that will guarantee some Ohhhh's and Ahhh's from your friends. Right now they are having their Summer Sale and any purchase of 35 dollars and up gives you Free Shipping.

Here are some items that are under 50 dollars from their website

Just in case you want to know who the next fashion designer Target is collaborating with, (Fall Fashion) it will be designer Joseph Altuzarra (price range will be from 17 to 90.00 dollars)

Summer Sale Haul

Summer Sale Haul

I am finally settling in my new state, Wichita Kansas but sadly if you are planning on moving here for work or for whatever reason and you're a label or shopaholic you will have to content yourself with online shopping. If you live in Old Town or the downtown area of Wichita there are two boutiques that has up to date or in this century clothing. One is at East Douglas, Lola Boutique (price range are from 35 dollars to 50 dollars) and Lucinda's at North Mead (price range are from 30 to 100 dollars). Lucinda's is a little more upscale since they have Free People products and among other things. The East side Towne Square Mall has Von Maur and Dillards and a few "cali" shops like PACSUN, Tilly's and Zumiez that carries OBEY, Diamond and etc. you get my drift. On the East side as well they have the Bradley Fair which have a Sephora, Victoria Secret, Gap, Talbots and William Sonoma. There is nothing on the West side unfortunately, they have a mall sort-of and Walmart.

If you are reading my blog right now and are looking for online sale, you're just in luck. Here are a few stores that are having their Summer Sale (pretty much preparing for the Fall Wear/ Season) and having as much as 60% percent off their merch.

Here are my orders from Zara, I just had to buy all three of the skirts! I bought the navy one and was in love!

(I wasn't sure why they listed this as brown since when I received them they were not brown but navy blue and white)

I can't find the Caution Feeling Lucky Blue Clutch that I ordered previously but was glad to see that the white clutch has made it's comeback since it sold out pretty quick when it was first released.

This was the "Feeling Lucky" clutch that I bought from Zara last week

I will have to post my Summer Haul as soon as my orders arrives. I only bought from H&M and Zara since we don't have these shops in Wichita, KS. The closest one would be in Kansas City, MO or Oklahoma City which is about two hours away from Wichita give or take (less if you're speeding).

Friday Finds and Such

Friday Finds for under 20 dollars

I've always wanted to have my vintage set of mismatched tea cups and dessert plates. I've seen a couple of Kate Spade dessert plates at Dillards that has some cute details but are melamine ( heavy weight plastic ) and I'm looking for porcelain for durability and aesthetic.

As my daily routine after getting coffee at Espresso To Go Go, I walked to my local antique shop A Legacy Antiques to do my cardio (window shopping is cardio). I found a couple of dessert plates for 3 dollars each and was so glad I didn't get the melamine Kate Spade plates at Dillards.

Since they were not a set I looked online for something that is similar. I found a small plate on sale at H&M and bought a couple to complete my dessert plate set. All I need now is a vintage porcelain cake stand and cake cutter! Yay!

I also found some cute pillows for our couch that are 10 dollars and some guest hand towels for when we're entertaining at home.

I still have to find some porcelain tea cup set with matching tea pot and teaspoon before I can host my afternoon tea party and wine party. Speaking of wine, if you are more of a dessert wine drinker like me, you might want to try this Roscato/ Sweet Red Wine

Roscato is an irresistible, delicately sweet, gently fizzy red wine from the northern Italian region of Lombardy. Made from three native grape varieties grown in this beautiful region for centuries – Croatina, Teroldego and Lagrein – Roscato makes a wonderful aperitif and is also incredibly food-friendly. This is my Go To Wine for a Wine Party or a House Warming Gift since it is very light and fruity and all the girls love it!

If you are from Wichita Kansas I suggest visiting Beyond Napa at North Mead in Old Town Square right across Warren Theater. They have quite a collection of wine and beer. I am not much of a beer drinker but I love the Peach Belgian Beer/ Lambic because it's sweet and tastes like a dessert wine. I found a 50 Shades of Grey Red Wine in their shelf in my last visit.
