And this is why I am broke

And this is why I am undoubtedly, unabashedly broke. My current wallet situation or lack of funds to finance my shopping expeditions does not deter me from window shopping or purchasing small items that I probably will never use but purchased because it was on sale. But this does not mean that I'm a hoarder in any way. I love things shiny and new. The smell of leather gives me goosebumps. The touch of silk in my skin makes me feel pretty. A new dress, shoes or bag makes me feel confident and ready to take on what life will throw my way. Even on a bad day I am able to smile and tell myself that it's okay, you still look good in that new dress you're wearing.
Yes, this might seem shallow to most or I appear dim-witted. My argument, some people can't live without coffee, or worst smoking. I on the other hand cannot live without my dresses or my shoes.

I LOVE A GOOD DEAL

This is in fact true. I know that my funds are limited and my taste is expensive. As much as I want a pair of those red soles Christian Louboutin's, let's be honest I can't afford it. I have to find a median where I can satisfy my wants and don't go broke. That means shopping at Outlet Malls (and these moments are rare and I see them more as a splurge or a reward to myself.), factory sales, discount outlets like Marshall and TJ Maxx or recently Target. Yes, Target. The middle-class cousin of Walmart. Currently collaborating with big name brands such as Neiman Marcus and designers like Phillip Lim and the likes. For 40 dollars including tax you can own a Phillip Lim bag or an Oscar dela Renta tote, not bad, not at all.

THE SAVVY SHOPPER

It is not where you buy it from but how you look in it. This adage is what I go by in all my shopping expeditions. It is really not where you buy your new bag from but how you carry it or how you look in that 500 dollar summer dress you just bought. The most expensive dress I own is a 100 dollar (and that's with tax and rounding off numbers) black dress I bought from Dillard's by BCBG on sale. This was more of a splurge for me and I've worn this dress in numerous occasions. I've worn it in our company's Christmas Party, a bachelorette bash and a ballet (just thinking from top of my head). Another proud purchase was my black and white Prabal Gurung by Target sandals that I found on a discount from Poshmark for 26.00 dollars including shipping. I will have to elaborate more about this app/website since this can be a financial savior for shopaholics in a different post.

You can buy a dress that cost 12 dollars from Marshall's and still look like a million dollars. Point is, it's not the brand or how much you pay for your clothes. It's how you carry it and if you look good in it.
